When past musical project of Sam's the Hero came to an end for Neil Donohue, he founded Addison as a solo project in 2009. After playing with Sam's the Hero for nearly a decade, it was time to move on and try something new. He called on friends and musicians Allen Bays, of True Liberty and ex guitarist of Rude Zombie on bass, Jason Schnieder, who was also another former guitarist of Sam's the Hero, and good friend, Dan Sykes, on drums.
These four guys will tell you, it's not about what you do but it's how you do it. Addison is founded on the aspects of making fun and enjoyable music without being held to one particular genre. The four of this musicians come from very different musical backgrounds with influences from genres of Pop Punk, Alternative Rock, Punk, Post Hardcore, and Ska. Addison puts these genres with a 1990's and early 2000's Pop Punk feel.
Addison dropped their debut EP in June 2011 and followed up with a short tour to the Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, Illinois for support of their release. They are now in the process of recording their full length album with hopes to release the material late 2011. For being around for less than a year, Addison has high hopes of making this a career. These four guys will tell you it's not what you do, but how you do it.
