Another Astronaut Bio:
Another Astronaut is a Pop Punk band from the Bronx, NY. The band is heavily influenced by mainstream pop punk bands Blink 182 and Green Day, as well as earlier 90s punk bands NOFX, Lagwagon and The Vandals. There are also subtle hints of influence from alternative bands Say Anything and Motion City Soundtrack as well.
The band was started by Nick Quiles in 2008 during his Junior year of high school along with classmates Nick Lamantia and Paul Arroyo in an effort to participate in the school talent show. Originally named Staple Remover, the band began playing numerous shows in numerous venues around the tri-state area in 2009.
In 2010 the band replaced then drummer Nick Lamantia with Christian Estrella due to creative differences and eventually changed their name to Bridge The Border. A few months later the name was changed again due to another band having the same name, ultimately leading to Another Astronaut. Manny De La Cruz eventually joined the band in 2011 on lead guitar. That same year, the band headlined at both the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn and The Studio at Webster Hall, a personal milestone for the band.
In 2012 Manny left the band due to personal differences and Anthony Privitera took his place on lead. The band released their first full length album entitled "Muff Cabbage" independently in November 2013. Since then, Christian has left the band for personal reasons, allowing for Nick "Jimmy" Ventura to take his place on drums. Currently the band is playing shows all over the New York area and working on both an EP and a second album. They're hoping to tour soon.
