Heart To Heart Bio:
Pismo Beach California's HEART TO HEART began their journey in 2009 when Stuart Stock and Nick Zoppo put the pieces together from the remains of a few defunct local acts. The DIY ethic comes natural to these Central Coasters – as within a year, the band was already infiltrating the California music scene through self-booked tours and grassroots fan building. After generating a considerable online presence and a strong regional following, HTH released their long-awaited debut full length album in the form of Impressions in June of 2010. This was enough to spark the interest of LA based indie label Anchor Eighty Four Records. Says vocalist Nick Zoppo, “Cody Jones from Anchor Eighty Four originally saw us at this tiny venue in LA called The Cobalt Café. I guess the rest is kind of history after that.” It’s not surprising to know that the band inked a deal after showcasing just once, as Heart to Heart brings one of the most heartfelt and electric punk-rock live performances to the stage – much in the vein of pop-punk/hardcore contemporaries Crime in Stereo and Make Do and Mend. “There was real raw emotion coming forth from Nick's lyrics that I could very much relate to, and that passion translated into their live performance as well,” says Cody Jones – founder and CEO of Anchor Eighty Four Records.
Upon signing a record deal, the band quickly geared up and wrote their Anchor Eighty Four debut in Deathproof, a three-song vinyl/digital EP released in October of 2011, produced by Los Angeles native and long-tenured producer Kyle Black (Set Your Goals, All Time Low, Pierce the Veil). Immediately following the release, the 4-piece touring machine hit the road for their first national stint with hometown friends The Mighty Fine, followed by a West Coast run with The Sheds and Currents in January of 2012. Needless to say, Heart to Heart will stop at nothing to ensure you’ve been touched in some way by their music. “We like to think that we’re writing music that’s real. That’s how we come off on our records, and that’s how we like to come off on stage,” says Zoppo. With a new record and fresh video on the horizon, these heart-warmers’ sounds will fill the ears of kids across the globe – rest assured. As Nick Zoppo says it best, “we’re not making fans, we’re making friends.” So let the takeover begin.
