Poor Me Bio:
We are now supporting our newest EP, 'Sugarcane,' to be released on August 14, 2018. We will be touring various cities on the West coast from 7/25 through 8/5.
Poor Me is a five-piece hardcore, pop-punk outfit from Denver, CO. Since forming in 2010, Poor Me has played a handful of Western tours from Chicago to LA, sharing stages with celebrated rock acts such as Alkaline Trio, Touché Amoré, Face to Face, Teenage Bottlerocket, I the Mighty, and The Sidekicks. They have appeared at SXSW, Riot Fest, FoCoMX and more. Their freshman release, “Readymade,” received positive reviews, They are now supporting their follow-up concept album, "Cosplay," engineered by Chris Fogal of Black In Bluhm Recording Studio (The Gamits, Drag The River, Lagwagon, Allout Helter, Chris Cresswell).
Poor Me has become more dynamic in their recent release, blending melodic-hardcore with gritty pop-punk. "Cosplay" was written as a concept album about comic book heroism, establishing their ability to write meaningful, energetic hooks under a unified theme worth reading as much as listening.
From the album notes: “Our mythologies share a consistent interpretation of what makes a hero/ine. These characters shoulder the responsibility of entire communities as the whole world watches, smash fear before it poisons their head, and offer examples of humanist vigilantism while being treated as less than human themselves…The hope is to humanize their heroism as an attainable, cognitive capacity.”
