A Week In Punk: This Week’s Biggest Stories Recapped (11/3/13)

As shameful as it is, some of you readers don’t actually check Dying Scene every hour of every day.  For you slackers we’ve put together a list of last week’s biggest stories to help you stay in the loop and maintain your punk cred. You’re welcome.

1. That Tony Sly tribute we’ve been talking about forever was finally released and we gave it a glowing review.

2. Last week marked the greatest holiday of the year – Halloween. Here are some songs you can listen to year-round to keep the spooky vibes going.

3. Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, member of feminist punk outfit Pussy Riot, went missing during a prison transfer. Dick move, Russia.

4. Jello Biafra talked to some French people about his feelings and the interview is pretty entertaining.

5. We reviewed the new A Wilhelm Scream album. I haven’t listened to it, so I don’t get an opinion.

6. We also reviewed the new Bad Religion Christmas album. I haven’t listened to this either, but I already hate it.

7. Less Than Jake put out a new song and you guys were really cavalier about it.

8. Mad Choice is a pretty cool ska band from Israel and they just put out a new album that you should listen to.

9. Flirting With Disaster covered Millencolin’s “Penguins and Polar Bears.” No word on whether or not they nailed the accent.

10. Brazil’s Wros Fest has been rescheduled for December and has a brand new lineup.

Those were just some of the most read stories from last week, but there were plenty more little gems covered.  Let us know what what you loved, what you hated and what your personal favorite story was in the comments. If you just can’t get enough of us, follow Dying Scene on Twitter, kick it with us on Facebook and join the Dying Scene mailing list
