A Week In Punk: This Week’s Biggest Stories Recapped (7/21/13)

As shameful as it is some of you readers don’t actually check Dying Scene every hour of every day.  For you slackers we’ve put together a list of last week’s biggest stories to help you stay in the loop and maintain your punk cred.  You’re welcome.

1. Joe Queer reminisced about the ten songs that made him fall in love with punk rock.

2. We put together a list of ten things you probably didn’t know about NOFX’s Fat Mike. And here I am thinking he was an open book.

3. Forget the drivel you heard from BuzzFeed, Dying Scene has a way better list of Pop Punk albums you need to hear.

4. That Greek guy from two weeks ago covered some NOFX songs on his trusty drum set.

5. AFI put out a new song. I haven’t heard it yet, but I bet it’s pretty awful.

6. 7 Seconds put out a new song called, “My Aim Is You.” A few people didn’t like it, but the band has zero time for you Negative Nancies.

7. Lagwagon has a new album coming out next year. It’s only been, like, eight years.

8. Fletcher Dragge of Pennywise talked about the band’s split and recent reunion.

9. If you have yet to hear the new Against Me! songs, you are a loser and should go download them for free right now.

10. Masters of the long goodbye, Streetlight Manifesto announced the final leg of their final tour. Finally.

Those were just some of the most read stories from last week, but there were plenty more little gems covered.  Let us know what what you loved, what you hated and what your personal favorite story was in the comments. If you just can’t get enough of us, follow Dying Scene on Twitter, kick it with us on Facebook and join the Dying Scene mailing list
