Hardcore punk band Anchor, based in Gothenburg, entered the studio today to record the bands third full length album, titled “Distance & Devotion”. The bands official statement is as follows:
“Today we started recording our third full length record, titled DISTANCE & DEVOTION, which will be released in 2014. We started this process a year ago and to say we’re excited to turn these 10 new songs into a record, is a massive understatement. From this day and two weeks forward, you will find us in Fvck Life studios in Trollhättan, Sweden with Fredrik Forsberg in charge of the recording session. Fredrik is a good friend of the band and we’re curious to see how he will put his personal touch to this record.
The process of writing this record has been very different from anything we’ve done in the past. We’ve let ourselves take the time we needed to give all the songs justice and make them the best they can be, as well as letting ourselves try every idea we’ve come up with, no matter how crazy it may have seemed. No stone has been left unturned. This record pays tribute to the records that have shaped us over the years, the music we love – regardless of genre.”
The band released their last album “Recovery” in 2011 and you can stream it on their bandcamp.
