Animalhaus singer John Barlow passes away

John Barlow, lead singer of Pennsylvania hardcore-punk act Animalhaus, has passed away. The band had the following to say on their Facebook page:

“It’s with the heaviest of hearts I let you guys know our singer John Barlow has passed away. We will always love him and continue to be with him through the amazing songs he left us with… We love and miss you John.”

A cause of death was not mentioned, but a post from John’s brother Brian Barlow says John had been hospitalized for several weeks. Brian Barlow’s full post below.

Animalhaus went on “hiatus” in 2012, but planned a few festival appearances in the fall of 2013, which were eventually cancelled due to “internal struggles within the band.”

From the Facebook page of John’s brother Brian…

“This is probably the hardest thing I’ve ever written and to be perfectly honest I don’t know the best way to write it. Some of you may have already heard or maybe just heard rumors. My brother John passed away this morning at about 11:15. He had been in the hospital for a month and a half, mainly in ICU. It’s very hard for our family at this time but we’re holding strong. Please send prayers, thoughts, positive vibes, etc. to him on his journey back home. We appreciate everything you’ve all done for him and us through the years. We’ll keep you all updated as far as services for him. I know many of you will want full info but please keep in mind we may not be able to answer phone calls or texts since there is still a lot to attend to. Remember the good times you may have had with him. I owe a lot of what I’ve accomplished to him and Mike. John, I love you and I’ll miss you.

What is is. What it was. What it shall be.”
