Blink-182 announce only California show for this year

Blink-182 have announced what appears to be their only live show in California for this year. They are on the bill for this year’s X-Fest, hosted by the San Diego rock station 91X. The festival, which will now take place on September 20th instead of May 17th, also features The OffspringJimmy Eat World and The Dirty Heads. Blink-182 guitarist-singer Tom DeLonge comments:

“We thought that if we were gonna do something, let’s do it as close to my house as possible. We’re very excited to announce that blink-182 will be there with you.”

According to 91X Program Director Christy Taylor, Blink were on 91X’s wish list for this year’s X-Fest, which celebrates the station’s 30th anniversary. He states:

“We wanted blink-182 from day one, but it didn’t seem to be working out, so we went ahead with a stellar line-up with Offspring and 30 Seconds to Mars. We never gave up, an opportunity appeared, and now we are thrilled to add San Diego’s favorite band to X-Fest, and end the summer with the biggest concert of the year.”

Blink-182 last released their christmas EP Dogs Eating Dogs in December of last year. They recently began recording their follow-up to 2011’s Neighborhoods, which was their first studio album in eight years.
