Bound & Buried releases cover of Tom Petty’s “Refugee” to benefit the International Rescue Committee

Brooklyn punks Bound & Buried are streaming a new cover of Tom Petty’s “Refugee.” This track is their response to all the recent hatred and closed-mindedness towards Syrian refugees.  The band accompanied the song with a statement that:

“This recording is dedicated to all refugees who have been displaced, mistreated or miscast into the world without a home to call their own. It’s time we remember where we come from and that most of us wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the doors that openly welcomed our own ancestors.”

You can read the rest of the statement here and you can stream the track below.

If you support the cause, you can read about the International Rescue Committee here, and donate some money to download the track on Bound & Buried’s bandcamp page.
