Chaser (skate-punk) signs to Dying Scene Records for release of new album “Sound The Sirens”, stream first single

Southern California punk act Chaser were one of the bands that inspired me to start Dying Scene eight years ago. I couldn’t understand why they weren’t on Fat, or being written about on Punknews, so I launched a site to get deserving bands like them more exposure. But that’s not why I’ve signed them today to Dying Scene Records. Personal relationships or past releases, no matter how good they are, aren’t enough get on DS Records. It’s simpler than that. I have to hear an album before I’ll agree to release it, and I have to legitimately love the album – like top 5 releases of the year love them. By the second listen of “Sound The Sirens” I was sold.

On July 20th Dying Scene Records will be digitally releasing the band’s 4th full-length album, “Sound The Sirens,” while the folks at Effervescence Records are handling vinyl. To get you appropriately stoked check out the album’s first single “Bonfire” below.

While you listen here’s a fun tidbit from the band about the recording of the acoustic intro to the track:

“So while our engineer/producer, Ian Petersen, was editing one of our songs, we were standing in the parking lot jamming “Bonfire” on acoustic guitar and singing the chorus together as a band. Ian came outside and said, “That sounds awesome. What are you guys playing?” So he pulled us into the studio, and we tracked the intro to “Bonfire” with all 4 band members singing the chorus, and Bill playing guitar at the same time. We recorded it as one take, and it sounded so good and natural that we kept it!”

Pre-orders are up and running for this album. Snag a digital copy here and vinyl/CD/Bundles here.
