Another “it came from left field” story for your Hump Day late-afternoon: the one-and-only Chuck Ragan is getting into the video game score composing game!
Ragan was approached by video game collective The Molasses Flood (featuring members of the teams responsible for BioShock, Halo 2 and 3, Guitar Hero, Rock Band and more) about coming up with a score for their upcoming game, “The Flame In The Flood.” The crowd-funded game “projects the gamer into a completely unique, procedurally-generated river, through environments inspired by the Everglades, The Mississippi Delta, Louisiana Bayou, and other quintessentially American places as you scrounge for resources, craft tools, remedy afflictions, evade the vicious wildlife, and most importantly, stay ahead of the coming rains.” If ever there was a game that was right up Ragan’s alley, it seems “The Flame In The Flood” is it.
We’ll keep you posted on details as they become available. In the meantime, you can check out more information on the project here, and see where you can catch Ragan on tour in support of his stellar latest full length (and album-of-the-year candidate) Till Midnight (SideOneDummy Records) right here. He’s also got the twentieth anniversary Hot Water Music tour coming down the ‘pike too; here are details.
