Crossover/hardcore punk D.R.I. have launched a Facebook page called Spike Cassidy Cancer Relief Fund by asking fans to donate money in order to help the guitarist of the band, who has been diagnosed with cancer off and on since 2006, and was hospitalized from complications of colectomy last year. The Facebook page’s description reads as follows:
“SPIKE CASSIDY CANCER RELIEF P.O. BOX 487 POULSBO, WA. 98370 USA Whether your donating $5 or $50 you will be helping Spike and his family tremendously. D.R.I. & the CASSIDY family thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
We here at Dying Scene are going to pray that Spike will get better soon.
D.R.I. haven’t released any albums since the release of Full Speed Ahead, which came out back in 1995, but keep your fingers crossed for new material from the band.
