Dead Kennedys Cover Song Week (FRIDAY): Blanks 77 take on “Too Drunk To Fuck”

For no real reason other than that we can, this week we’ll be bringing you five classic Dead Kennedys songs as performed by a variety of other bands. The original DK lineup formed in San Francisco in the late 1970s and was active in crafting their particular brand of socio-politically conscious hardcore until calling it quits in 1986.

“Too Drunk To Fuck” closes out the week for us (though we’ve got something in store for tomorrow too). The original track can be found on the Dead Kennedys’ 1987 “Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death” B-sides compilation. Today’s cover version comes from New Jersey street punks Blanks 77, who performed the song for the 1998 DK tribute album “What Were We Fighting For?”.
