Deryck Whibley says he and Sum 41 will be “back out on stage before you know it”

Earlier this month, Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley revealed in an update on his website that he had been hospitalized after his liver and kidney started to fail as a result of irresponsible drinking. More recently, Whibley posted the above image on the band’s Facebook page with the following caption:

“Hey everyone, I just wanted to thank you all so much for sending gifts and all of the compassion and support you have shown me. It really means a lot to me in this time of recovery. I will be better soon and back out on stage before you know it.

See you all soon, Deryck Whibley”

According to a recent post on former Sum 41 guitar tech Brian Keith Diaz’s blog, Deryck had been trying to cut back on his drinking when he last saw him a year ago. We sincerely hope he follows through this time around and has a quick recovery.
