Desaparecidos cancel remainder of US tour

Omaha group Desaparecidos have abruptly canceled the rest of their current US tour, including shows planned for FEST and Pre-FEST.

The band announced Conor Oberst (also of Bright Eyes) became very sick in Jacksonville, forcing them to cancel the rest of the tour. See the full statement from the band, including a list of affected shows, below.

Desaparecidos released a new album, Payola, in June via Epitaph Records. It was the band’s first full-length release in 13 years, following up on their 2002 debut, Read Music/Speak Spanish.

Desaparecidos has been forced to cancel the remainder of their US tour dates. Conor Oberst fell ill while on tour in Jacksonville, Florida and was briefly hospitalized due to laryngitis, anxiety, and exhaustion. In consultation with his doctors, the band has reluctantly agreed to cancel all scheduled live dates. Conor will be heading home to Omaha to recuperate. We wish him a speedy recovery.
