Documentary stream: Brooklyn Rocksteady (featuring The Toasters, The Slackers, The Pietasters)

Filmmaker Samuel Gursky has made his documentary, “Brooklyn Rocksteady,” available for online streaming and pay-what-you-want download.

The film covers the past 30 years of the Ska and Rocksteady scene in Brooklyn and its surrounding areas.

Featuring bands like The Pietasters and The Toasters, “Brooklyn Rocksteady” was born out of a Kickstarter campaign and took over two years to put together.

You can view the documentary and a quote from the creator himself right here.

If you like it so much that you need to watch it every single day forever, you can download it and set your own price.

This project took me 2 and a half years to complete.

I was naive enough in January of 2011 to think that it would only take me a couple of months, but I have learned that lesson and many more through this production.

The purpose of this film is to shine some light on an incredible community that is often overlooked, so I encourage you to above all share this with anybody who you think may enjoy it.

Also – we love screenings.

If you’d like to host one in your town, please get in touch!

Thank you all so much for your support, it made this project possible and makes it all feel worth it.

– Sam
