That’s right, we decided we needed another cold hard mil in the bank so we added Alberta, Canada’s Chimp Change to the growing Dying Scene Records roster! We’re beyond stoked to announce that the melodic punk act will be releasing their sophomore album, “Type Zero Civilization”, with us on June 18th.
For those not yet familiar with the band, Chimp Change plays a high-octane brand of pop-infused skate punk that harkens back to vintage Strung Out, Jim Cherry era Pulley and Cock Rock-style Diesel Boy. Everything about this four piece’s sound is full throttle. Dueling guitar leads and chunky power chords, rock-steady drums and thundering basslines keep the pedal pinned to the floor, providing the perfect backdrop for the dueling vocalists (think Mark and Tom of “Cheshire Cat” era Blink 182) to tell their booze-filled tales of frustration, isolation, and living like there’s no tomorrow.
(How was that for a nice publicity blurb, eh?!)
Don’t take our word for it, though. Go stream three songs from “Type Zero Civilization” (“Temporary”, “No Tomorrow” and “July 12”) right here and if you dig ’em pre-order the album on the Dying Scene Record’s bandcamp.
