Frank Turner to release “The First Three Years”

frank-turnerCome tomorrow, Paper + Plastik Records will be introducing Frank Turner‘s double LP “The First Three Years” to the world. This collection features demos, covers, live tracks and b-sides recorded by Frank after his London-based hardcore band, Million Dead, broke up in early 2005. Shortly after the break up, Frank began his solo career and recorded the 23 tracks which were only featured on split releases or UK compilations from 2005 to 2008, thus, “The First Three Years”. Paper + Plastik Records owner, Vinnie Fiorello, comments:

“Frank Turner is the future of British music, and I don’t say that lightly. He channels Billy Bragg like he has Billy’s blood running through his own veins. The lyrics, the melodies, and the way he connects with the crowd makes him a contender to be the ONLY British import that matters. I’m honored to be able to release his early songs all packaged up in a fantastic looking double LP. Long Live Frank Turner!”

Frank delivers his own interpretations of songs from Black Flag, Bad Brains, The Lemonheads, Postal Service and Abba so if you happen to be one of many who will rush out tomorrow to buy your own copy, you’re in for a “folkin” treat!

And if live performances are more your thing, you can catch Frank Turner live as he is on tour right now supporting The Gaslight Anthem. Check his Dying Scene Shows page for dates!
