D.O.A. frontman Joey Keithly, aka Joey Shithead, is running for office a third time. Keithly previously ran for office in 1996 and 2001 under the Green Party banner.
In an interview with The Province Keithly stated:
“I always enjoy a challenge — I think it’s going to be great. And I think it is going to be a lot of fun and exciting. And if it is not exciting, then I’ll find a way to make it exciting. It can’t just be a snooze. You got to get out there and let people know what your ideas are and the way you are running.”
Keithley told The Province he hopes to bring change to the riding, currently held by Liberal MLA Douglas Horne, and will campaign on issues such as fairness in government and senior and youth concerns. A nomination meeting for the riding has not been set, and Keithley said he likely won’t know if he won the nomination until December.
DOA’s latest release Talk – Action = 0 (review here), dropped last June also on Sudden Death Records.
