Astute Dying Scene followers will remember our two-part exclusive interview with the one-and-only Fletcher Dragge from about six months ago. Among the myriad topics discussed during that epic read was the post-Jim, pre-Zoli era, during which time the remaining three Pennywise members tried out a host of new singers in the wake of Jim’s initial departure.
One of the names that Fletcher tossed around was Jay Navarro of the Suicide Machines and Break Anchor. Now, we all know that Pennywise put out a kick ass album, “All Or Nothing,” with Zoli Teglas in the frontman role, and that longtime singer/songwriter Jim Lindberg has recently rejoined the band. But did you ever wonder what the band would sound like with Navarro at the helm?
Wonder no more, punk fans. Thanks to the kind folks at Underground Communique Records, the Jay Navarro-Pennywise demos have seen the light of day. Click here to check out Jay’s take on the Pennywise classics “Society,” “Living For Today” and “Peaceful Day.”
