Mark Hoppus: Blink-182 are going through “a friendly divorce” with Tom DeLonge

So it appears that the inevitable welcome or unwelcome (depending on your perspective) news is finally upon us: Tom DeLonge is gone from the Blink-182 camp, and isn’t exactly on his way back.

In a recent interview with the Das Process podcast, Blink bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus confirmed that the remaining two-thirds of the band were going through a “friendly divorce with (their) former guitarist.” Hoppus added: “hopefully things clear up and it doesn’t get all manager-y and lawyer-y and all that and we can move forward.” You can check out the rest of the interview here.

It would appear that this would pave the way for DeLonge’s recent replacement, Alkaline Trio‘s Matt Skiba (pictured above with Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker) to take a more official role in what would, in many ways, become a sort of supergroup. Stay tuned.
