Mark Trombino (ex-Drive Like Jehu) considering retiring as a producer to focus on running donut shop

According to a recent article from The Hollywood Reporter, former Drive Like Jehu drummer Mark Trombino is considering retiring from his career in music production to focus on his donut shop Donut Friend, which he has been the owner and operator of since 2011:

“I don’t want to admit it yet,” Trombino says when asked whether he’s completely done with music. “But probably. I can still work at home. I have a little setup at home where I can mix or whatever. I knew this would be different than working in music, and that’s why I did it. I know nothing about this business. Every minute I’m learning something new, which is exciting.”

If you don’t know who Mr. Trombino is, here’s a little history: Mark has worked as a producer for many bands in his 22-year career, including Blink 182, Jimmy Eat World, Rocket From The Crypt, Bad Astronaut, The Hippos, and most recently, The Wonder Years.

All of the menu items at his Los Angeles donut shop are named after punk bands as well! Bacon 182, Chocolate From The Crypt, The Gorilla Biscuit, Fudgegazi, and Dag Nutty are only a few names of donuts the shop sells. For a full menu, click here.
