Mike McDermott, drummer of The Bouncing Souls, has announced his departure from the band. Here’s what the Souls had to say on their Facebook page:
“Our brother and band mate Michael Mcdermott has decided to leave the band to pursue other musical interests. It has been an amazing 13 and a half years. We love you and wish you all the best! Here’s to the memories! We don’t know what’s next (we never have!) but we know its gonna be rad! Onto the future!”
McDermott joined The Bouncing Souls in 1999 after former drummer Shal Khichi left the band after the release of “Hopeless Romantic.” He had previously done work for Skinnerbox, Murphy’s Law and Mephiskapheles.
We at Dying Scene wish Mike the best of luck in his future musical endeavors and will keep you updated with his upcoming projects. The Bouncing Souls last released “Comet” in 2012 via Rise Records & Chunksaah Records.
