There always seems to be just a little more thought behind Red Tank! frontman Clipper “Danger” Arnold’s rage than you might see from your average punk band, and that distinction became intensely obvious with the release of Red Tank!’s newest video “Anthropocene (Revelations)” off their sophomore full-length BIO/FEEDBACK.
“The video is a melding of organic and technological, the real and the absurd, and rebuilding after the fall of civilization,” says the band. And it’s definitely the right style of video to follow the record’s first single “Obelisk” which may rank a little more “punk” than “Anthropocene” but which as a video pales in comparison in concept and execution. Check it out below.
The Phoenix-based quartet is hands down the best punk band you’ve never heard of. Their debut album “I Want you to Crowdsurf my Body at my Funeral” was an absolute gem, and Bio/Feedback is even better. They are also continuing to put out high quality and high concept music videos to accompany their strongest tracks.
Red Tank! seems to have a tradition wherein they work with a different director for every video, and they had Mike Buckius get into the director’s chair to helm this existential freakout of a music video. However, Arnold’s fingerprints are quite obviously all over it.
