New Music: Slaine (Boston hip-hop) featuring Street Dogs’ Mike McColgan – “Sam Song”

Interesting new music for your Friday. It’s a little outside the scope of Dying Scene’s traditional comfort zone, and for good reason. It’s a new track called “Sam Song,” and it comes to us by way of Boston-based hip-hop artist Slaine, whom our non-rap fans might recognize from his appearances in movies like The Town and Gone Baby Gone. Anyway, the track features an appearance from none other than Street Dogs Mike McColgan. Also, yours truly is pretty sure that McColgan’s fellow Street Dog Lenny Lashley, whom you may remember from this, laid down the guitar on the track, but perhaps don’t quote me on that. Anyway, check it out below.

“Sam Song” appears on Slaine’s recent “House of Slaine” mixtape, which finds him teaming up with DJ Frank White, DJ Lethal and Danny Boy from the legendary House of Pain. Listen to, or download, the whole thing right here.
