Over the course of the last few months, Tim Armstrong’s Tim Timebomb And Friends has certainly produced a few tracks that appeared out of left field, and today’s track is certainly no different. It’s called “Clementina,” and you can check it out here. Here’s Tim’s history lesson for us:
Back in the late 1930s and early 40′s, pre-World War II, there were a handful of Trinidadian folk singers finding their way into the recording studio singing & performing calypso. The songs were as colorful as the performers, who had names like King Radio, Attilla The Hun, The Growler, Roaring Lion and this one which was originally recorded by Lord Caresser in 1938. Here’s our take on “Clementina”.
Tim Timebomb and Friends have been releasing a long series of singles on iTunes every week since the November 2012 through Hellcat Records.
