New supergroup Dead Men Walking announce debut live performance

Pay attention, Los Angelinos (that’s what people from LA are called, right?); this could end up being pretty cool.

Apparently a new, self-described punk rock supergroup has materialized. They call themselves Dead Men Walking, and “they” are comprised of Captain Sensible from The Damned, Slim Jim Phantom from the Stray Cats, Mike Peters from The Alarm (and Big Country, if I’m not mistaken), Duff McKagan from Guns ‘N’ Roses/Velvet Revolver, Chris Cheney from The Living End and…wait for it…Fred Armisen from Saturday Night Live, Portlandia and Late Night with Seth Meyers. So far, only one show has been announced. It’s at The Troubadour on September 14th…get tickets here starting this coming Friday.

We’ll keep you posted as more news on this potentially interesting/potentially mortifying collaboration comes up.

Not sure how “new” DMW are, per se (this lineup, yes, but..) Mike Peters has had some incarnation of DMW since the early 2000’s….I believe it also had Glenn Matlock (sex Pistols), Pete Wylie (of The Mighty Wah!), Captain Sensible (The Damned), and Kirk Brandon (Spear of Destiny). Slim Jim maybe on and off…I can’t recall. I’ve had some of their live bootlegs for about 7-8 years…good stuff.

Peters also did Coloursound with Billy Duffy prior to this…they kicked ass.
