A sad day today, as we see the passing punk rock musician, Paul Walshe. For the past seven years, Walshe played banjo for the popular Irish punk band, Blood or Whiskey.
I had the privilege to meet and drink with Walshe on several occasions over the years in Switzerland, England, and Ireland, and not only was the man an incredibly talented musician, but he was also an incredible person, always taking the time to talk to people, listen, sign autographs…and he was a great mate to get pissed with! This is the second loss for Blood Or Whiskey, following the death of tin whistle player, Alan Confrey, in 2006.
Here is the statement from the band’s Facebook page -
It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Paul Walshe. Paul played Banjo in Blood or Whiskey for 7 years. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this sad time.
