Photo Gallery: NOFX headline first night at Punk Rock Bowling

Although the shows and festivities for Punk Rock Bowling start on Friday night, the real heart of the weekend of debauchery doesn’t fully get going until the bowling begins on Saturday. Performing musicians for Saturday included The Dips, Holding On To Sound, Far From Finished, Real McKenzies, The Briefs, The English Beat, The Adicts, and NOFX.

After a morning of drunken bowling, I headed to my hotel to catch a couple Zs before I stumbled into the festival grounds. My hour nap turned into a three hour nap, which led to me getting to the festival just as Real McKenzies were setting their bagpipe down. Damn! I would end up catching their performance at the Goldspike Pool Party the next day (photos up soon for that event). I missed Far From Finished, whom I interviewed last fall, as well as Holding On To Sound and The Dips, but my spirits were not down!

I was able to catch sets from The Briefs, The English Beat, and The Adicts, before the venue filled up with the anticipation of headliners NOFX. That’s not to take away from the incredible sets the other bands had (I always enjoy the theatrics of The Adicts, and the classics from The English Beat).

Check out some live shots of NOFX in action at Punk Rock Bowling here, and stay tuned for more photo galleries of bands from this year’s PRB.

Takeyshia Mc / I have been a huge fan of Dwele since 2003. He is so underrated and his lrycis and music are amazing. He is smooth as butter and so laid back. He seems really down to Earth must be a midwest thing. (I am from the midwest also). I also love the fact that he uses different types of women in his video and not just your usual video type. I am never disappointed with his music. I can just put in the CD and vibe to the whole thing. He is going to be in the ATL on Thursday. I really want to check him out because I never saw his live show but I am not sure if I can make it. Keep up the good work and I will pick up your CD tomorrow. One
