Revenge of the Psychotronic Man and Bootscraper cover each other on “The Bear And The Tiger” split

TNSrecords has announced that they will be releasing a split with a twist from Revenge of the Psychotronic Man and Bootscraper on the 14th February.

Apparently at Strummercamp Festival 2013 Manchester speed punk band, Revenge of the Psychotronic Man and Leeds Aggro-folkers, Bootscraper started discussing the idea of covering each others tracks and putting together a split to document the results.

If you are aware of both bands you will know that their sound is very different, with Revenge of taking fast to a new level and Bootscraper producing a big mix of county, Balkan, punk, sea shanty, rockabilly, bluegrass, folk, gypsy and blues music. But this divergence of sound made the idea even more interesting and every single band member was on board.  18 months after the idea was born, here are the results.

Bootscraper have reworked three Revenge tracks and Revenge have sped up and shouted over four Bootscraper tunes.

Unfortunately, since the split has been recorded Bootscaper decided to call it a day playing their last gig at Pie Race Festival in Leeds. So their swan song is this release.

The split is available on both 12″ vinyl and CD and is currently available to pre-order from the TNSrecords webstore.

You can stream Revenge of the Psychotronic Man’s version of Bootscraper’s “Past Lives Of Saints” and Bootscrapers version of Revenge’s “Captain Gin vs. The Victory Gin” off the release below.
