Other than playing shows here and there, San Jose’s Shinobu has been relatively quiet since the release of 2009’s Strange Spring Air (most likely in no small part due to guitarist Mike Huguenor’s involvement with his other bands such as Hard Girls, Classics of Love, and, most recently, The Bruce Lee Band), but now the band is gearing up to release a new full length album. Titled 10 Thermidor, the 11 track album will be co-released by Really Records and Lauren Records.

Rather than going the tradition route of release, both labels are doing a fundraising pre-order for 10 Thermidor: aother new song will be released at $1000, a third song will be released once they raise $2000, and at $3000 the entire album will be available to download for free via Quote Unquote Records.
