The reissue of Split Image will be similar to the 2000 CD reissue; it will contain bonus material, including tracks from their early demos, Sonic Decapitation, Personal Onslaught and Refuse to Quit, as well as “Insecurity” from Thrasher‘s Born to Skate compilation. The reissue will also feature and an alternative cover art and a photo booklet filled with previously unseen, era-specific photos. In addition, Excel will release a replica of their second demo, Personal Onslaught, as a limited edition pre-order item, also including their third demo Refuse To Quit on the b-side.
Prior to the reissue of Split Image, Excel (now consisting of Dan Clements on vocals, Shaun Ross on bass, Mike Cosgrove on drums and Alex Barreto on guitar) will play a one-off show at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus Bar on June 17th. More updates from Excel are expected to surface sometime soon.
Excel reunited in 2012 after a 15 year hiatus, and have since been playing live shows sporadically. Their last album, Seeking Refuge, was released in 1995.
