Following Deryck Whibley’s recovery from alcoholism, Sum 41 have announced that they have been playing together again for the first time in two years, and have apparently begun working on new material for their long-awaited new record. The band writes:
“an amazing day of running through a set of old songs. after 2 years not playing together the band sounded tighter than ever. had a great time playing the old ones. tomorrow we work on the new ones!”
Sum 41 released their last album Screaming Bloody Murder on Island Records in 2011. The band has been auditioning a replacement for their longtime drummer Stevo, who left the band two years ago.
