Prog punk/metal icons The Melvins will be releasing a brand new album titled “Tres Cabrones” on November 5th, featuring the band’s original drummer Mike Dillard, who left the band 30 years ago. Ipecace Records, who has handled all of the band’s releases since 1999’s “The Maggot,” will present this album as well. The band had this to say about the album:
“Tres Cabrones is as close as we’re willing to get to the Melvins 1983 line-up. . .“The best part is it’s all new songs. I specifically wrote tunes that would be good for these guys to play and it worked out great. We had no interest in rehashing tunes we wrote 30 years ago and chose instead to simply create NEW songs. It worked out perfectly.”
The Melvins last released a cover album “Everybody Loves Sausages” earlier this year, also on Ipecace Records.
