According to Star Tribune, the official lineup for The Replacements‘ reunion shows at all three Riot Fest location dates this year has been confirmed. The lineup includes vocalist Paul Westerberg, bassist Tommy Stinson, guitarist David Minehan (The Neighborhoods) and drummer Josh Freese (The Vandals, Devo, Guns N’ Roses, A Perfect Circle, Sublime With Rome, touring member of Nine Inch Nails, and session musician of The Offspring, Social Distortion, Suicidal Tendencies, etc.).
The Star Tribune article also states that, according to Westerberg’s manager Warren Hill, The Replacements are unsure about their future, and there are no hints of the band playing a hometown show before or between the Riot Fest shows. Hill simply states, “There are no plans right now besides those three shows.”
Earlier this year, The Replacements released the covers EP Songs for Slim, which was made to help pay medical bills for their former guitarist Slim Dunlap. Their last full-length studio album, All Shook Down, was released in 1990, a year before their split.
