Tim Timebomb streams new cover song “Don’t You Lie To Me”

Tim Timebomb and Friends have released yet another cover, this time of an oldie by Fats Domino called “Don’t You Lie To Me”.  Here’s what Tim had to say about it:

“Antoine “Fats” Domino originally recorded this in 1951 for Lew Chudd’s Imperial Records, a powerhouse R&B label that put out a lot of strong tracks for Domino’s label-mates such as Poison Gardner, King Porter, T-Bone Walker and Smiley Lewis. Many of those R&B smokers were recorded at Cossimo Matasas studio in New Orleans. Fat’s band back in ’51 featured Walter Papoose Nelson-guitar, William Drummond bass, Wendell Duconge- alto sax, Robert “Buddy” Hagans on tenor sax, and Cornelius Coleman on drums.”

You can listen to it here.

Tim Timebomb is the latest side project from Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, who has been releasing a long series of singles on iTunes every week since the beginning of November 2012 through Hellcat Records.
