Travis Barker, Soundwave founder trade insults over last minute drop-out

Travis Barker (of Blink 182) and Soundwave Founder AJ Maddah traded insults over Twitter last night in the latest developments in the fallout after Barker dropped out of the Soundwave festival.

Criticism has been pouring on Barker for the past week, leading him to respond that it was his fear of flying after a 2008 plane crash that is keeping him from the festival, adding “If they would’ve scheduled Australia around a boat schedule I would’ve made it. They didn’t though. They also didn’t schedule enough time to get from gig to gig without flying so I was forced not to go.”

Maddah responded via Twitter later that night, “Even though [Barker] didn’t show up. He threatened to legally stop the other guys from coming unless he got 1/3 of fee” in one Tweet, and “lying cunt. We had a bus refurbished and 2 drivers. If trucks have time to get gear from show to show this bus would too,” in another.

Barker responded by Tweeting, “Stop talkin shit, your spreading lies/stories & disrespecting me.Your not speaking 2 my management, your just fabricating shit”

To this, Maddah replied again, saying, “nope. Your reps asked for an extra $1M on top of the fee offered because you were definitely coming,” and “then they said they have to keep extra $1M because you insisted on 1/3 to allow other guys w/ fill in drummer.”

Barker replied, “OR MAYBE YOU SHOULD’VE SPOKEN TO MY MANAGER. GROW A SET AND CALL ME MAN, STOP TRYING TO DO THIS OVER TWITTER”

Maddah got the last word, Tweeting, “it breaks my heart that you’ve become a dick. Maybe less time trying to be Tupac & more time telling fans the truth may help”
