Two guys will skateboard from London to Germany to raise money for Skate Aid charity

Two awesome guys from the UK are planning to skateboard from London to Germany in an attempt to raise money for the Skate Aid charity. Here’s what James and Gareth had to say about their 500 mile journey and partnering with Skate Aid:

“On July 19th we are skateboarding (not longboarding) from Southbank, London to Munster, Germany. 2 friends, 2 boards, 500 miles and 5000 euros to raise for Skate-aid. Skate-aid supports kids in areas of conflict or deprivation by bringing skateboarding to their communities. In times of adversity skateboarding brings unity, equality and a stable social environment enabling great growth in self confidence, self worth and most importantly good times.

Full information and donation page is here.

You can say what specific project/area you want to donate to and all donators get a mention in the credits and a copy of the DVD. It’ll be screened across the UK and streamed and all the other guff.

On the journey (40 miles a day) we’ll be filming a documentary. Part travelogue, documentary, part skate video and the communities within them.”

They are also looking for bands to contribute music to the soundtrack of the aforementioned documentary. If you’ve got a sweet band, your songs can be submitted via email to thegreateuroskate@gmail.com.
