“It is crazy, but we have some of the best fans in the world. We honestly didn’t think it was going to go that quickly or do so well, but we’re so stoked. When we first started talking about it, we wanted to do something, especially for our fans. We wanted to give them something [so they could] experience our live show, and we thought, ‘Well you know, let’s record something when we’re on tour,’ and it happened to fall in Cologne, Germany.
We wanted them to experience being on tour with us and seeing us play live, especially because we don’t play the U.S. too often. As soon as we started talking to the people at Pledge, they really helped us get everything in order and helped us go throughout the process. It’s been a very positive experience, and obviously, a percentage of the proceeds go to Children’s Hospital in Orange County, which is a huge, huge thing we’re really happy about. So it’s been a very positive experience for us.”
Ali also talked about the next Zebrahead album, which will be the follow-up to last year’s Call Your Friends, “Yeah man, we’ve been in the studio all week. Today, actually, is our first day off. We’ve worked on over 50 ideas, so we’re starting to get deep into the new album I think the songs are a little dirtier and a little heavier on guitar, but we are just starting out and that’s the direction the songs have organically gone to, so well see how it turns out. But right now, they’re pretty rocking. Everyone is really excited, so we are stoked to do this last tour and come home and focus on it.”
