Western Settings and Gentlemen Prefer Blood West Coast dates

Southern California punks Western Settings and Gentlemen Prefer Blood announced tour dates for their upcoming west coast winter tour. Both bands have albums available for streaming, download, and physical purchase. Western Settings release music video for “Duncan”

San Diego punk act Western Settings have released the music video for their song “Duncan.”

The song appears on their new EP, “Old Pain,” which was produced by Dead To Me frontman, Tyson ” Chicken” Annicharico,  and  released on October 15th. Old Pain is the follow up to Western Settings’ self-titled debut album, which was released digitally by the great looking folks at Dying Scene Records on February 17, 2015. Physical releases were handled by La Escalera Records and Rad Girlfriend Records.



Western Settings and Gentlemen Prefer Blood announce winter tour dates

San Diego punks Western Settings will be hitting the road with  Gentlemen Prefer Blood for a string of dates on the West Coast this December.  You can find all the details below.

Both bands will also play Fest 14 at the end of October.



Western Settings tease new EP, ‘Old Pain’

San Diego punk act Western Settings have released a teaser video for their upcoming EP, Old Pain. The EP, which was produced by Dead To Me frontman Tyson ” Chicken” Annicharico, will be released on October 15, 2015. You can watch the teaser below.

Old Pain is the follow up to Western Settings’ self-titled debut album, which was released digitally by the great looking folks at Dying Scene Records on February 17, 2015. Physical releases were handled by La Escalera Records and Rad Girlfriend Records.



This is My Fest II announces line-up, offers free download of comp (new Civil War Rust track)

This Is My Fest is a a three day/four night punk festival springing up out of Oakland on September 9th through the 13th. You can check out the lineup and snag yourself a pair of tickets right here.

To promote the festival, the organizers are offering a sampler for free download. It features great bands like Western Settings, Dead Bars, Civil War Rust and much more!

You can check it out below and I recommend you do – the Civil War Rust song is a brand new, unreleased track and it kicks ass!

This Is My Fest II announces line-up, offers free compilation download

This Is My Fest II is a a four day punk festival set to take place in Oakland/Berkeley from September 10th through 13th.  The festival will feature bands like Civil War Rust, The Shell Corporation, Tartar Control, Dan Potthast, Dog Party, Western Settings, and many more.

The organizers have also released a free compilation featuring most of the bands on the bill, including new songs from Civil War Rust and Swingset Showdown.  Check it out below.

Awesome Fest 9 adds more bands

San Diego’s DIY Awesome Fest 9, which will take place September 4th-6th, has announced more of its lineup. In addition to the previously announced bands, such as Toys That KillMr. T Experience frontman Dr. Frank (backed by Turkish Techno), TiltwheelBad Cop/Bad Cop, and Rational Anthem, the fest will also feature Dead To Me, Western Settings, Oldfriends, and toyGuitar, among others.

Western Settings will work with “Chicken” from Dead to Me on new EP

San Diego punk act Western Settings is currently working on a new EP, and the band just announced that they will team with Tyson ” Chicken” Annicharico of the San Francisco punk act Dead To Me.  Chicken will be producing their new effort, which is scheduled for an October 15th release.

Western Settings will be hitting the road later this month as they make their way east for Fest in Gainesville, Florida, on October 31st.   You can find the rest of the dates below.  The band most recently released the full-length album Yes It Is on La Escalera Records, and you can check it out here.

Western Settings perform “Yes It Is” acoustically for BlankTV

While out on tour supporting their new album, San Diego punk act Western Settings stopped by the BlankTV house in Portland, OR, to perform an acoustic version of the song “Yes It Is” as a Porch Session. You can check out the video below.

The song is off the album of the same name. Yes It Is was digitally released by Dying Scene Records earlier this year and you can pick it up here.

La Escalera announces 4th anniversary show

La Escalera Records will be turning 4  this year, and to celebrate the label will be throwing a birthday bash / show on May 3, 2015 at the Til Two Club in San Diego, CA.
Confirmed acts for the show include Bastards Of Young, Civil War RustBlack DotsWestern SettingsGentlemen Prefer BloodCaskitt, DFMK, and Dudes Night, as well as reunion performances by Vena Cava and Breaker Breaker One Niner.
