UK sad punks Kamikaze Girls have joined forces with the burgeoning label from Belgium: Bearded Punk Records. In addition, they’ve been slated to play Fest in the first round of their announcements (which you can check here). No word yet from either band or label on a future release, but we’ll keep you updated.
The two-piece has a similar sound to White Lung (if they were just a bit calmer and more British). You can check out their sound for yourself on their track “Tonic Youth” below.

Grand Rapids based pop-punk band The Lippies have just premiered their brand new track “Fuck the Customer”. The track, originally posted on the AV Club, is short but sweet, filled with a sugary burst of manic energy and you can check it out below. Talking to the AV Club about the song, the band’s frontwoman, Tonia Broucek, had this to say;
“Fuck The Customer” is my response to people who lack respect for sex workers. It’s my response to people who work at jobs they hate and are treated poorly at, go home to consume porn, and then explain how they have no respect for those women because they allow themselves to be degraded. Yet they fail to recognize that many of these people actually love and believe in what they’re doing. They fail to recognize how valuable their product is and how much power these people have. Meanwhile, these motherfuckers can’t even stand up for themselves at their crappy jobs without risking termination. So, like… really what’s more degrading?
“Fuck the Customer” comes off the band’s upcoming self-titled EP, due to be released via Red Scare Industries on March 4, 2016.

Today we are stoked to bring you the exclusive US premiere of feminist post-hardcore band Petrol Girls upcoming EP “Some Thing”. If you’re unfamiliar with the band, their music combines manic jagged rhythms with vocals that range from furious screaming to intricate melodies and harmonies. Drawing direct influence from Refused, White Lung, Bikini Kill, Fugazi, RVIVR, Propagandhi, At The Drive-In and War On Woman, I think most of you will find something you like about this band.
Petrol Girls identify explicitly as a feminist band and draw on personal experiences to challenge and ridicule sexism, as well as exploring wider political themes, such as alienation, mental health and the current anti-austerity movement.
Give the album a listen below.

This week on Dying Scene Radio, Elena Venetia takes the week off, so Bobby Pickles conducts the podcast from Jersey City, NJ with longtime friend Adrien “Stupid Martini” De Martini, bassist of the female fronted horror punk act, Thee Money $hot. Things get personal, as los bastardos spin tales of atheism, Florida, talentless musicianship, and the untimely death of Teenage Bottlerocket drummer Brandon Carlisle. Bobby also openly apologizes for his wasted, unprofessional antics on last week’s episode; suffice it to say, Bobby doesn’t remember Halloween, but Stupid Martini is quick to remind Pickles of the Halloween two years prior. Have you ever shat your pants at a costume party? FUN FACT: Bobby has! (With special commentary from Mexico City’s Anti-Venöm, Cincinnati punk rockers, UnderTipper, and the new, surf-obsessed, totally-from-California punk band, The All Brights).
