Western Settings enter the studio

According to a couple recent social media posts from the band, Western Settings have recently reentered the studio to begin recording new material. According to a post from both the band and Tyson Annicharico of Dead To Me, the recording process is halfway completed. You can see the posts below.

Sick Of It All working on new studio album

Get pumped hardcore fans, NY hardcore legends Sick Of It All have announced that they are actively working on their 12th(!) studio album. Specifically, they state in an instagram post:

“We’re all together and working on the new album! Look out for more updates coming soon!”

This will be the band’s first new release since 2016’s EP “When The Smoke Clears”. We’ll keep you posted as more details are released.



Bad Religion tease new album

It’s been five years since Bad Religion last released any new material, but a tweet from frontman Greg Graffin suggests that he and guitarist Brett Gurewitz are in the studio working on songs for the band’s next record. The tweet simply says, “New songs in the pipeline….”

The new Bad Religion album will be their full-length studio album since 2013’s True North as well as their first with Mike Dimkich (replacing Greg Hetson) on guitar and Jamie Miller (replacing Brooks Wackerman) on drums. The band last released the EP Christmas Songs, which also came out in 2013.

When the record will be released is unknown, but we’ll keep you updated as details arise.



The Holophonics Kickstarting third album, post a new song

Denton, TX ska-punks The Holophonics have set up a kickstarter for their next album. They’ve posted a new song, “Sleepwalker” in the updates.

For three bucks, you can get a download of a previous album of your choice, and for five, you get a download of the upcoming album. There are lots of other reward tiers including t-shirts, CDs, vinyl, stickers, your name on the list for any/all shows, and even your own song for $300. You can check out the song in the updates, and make a pledge on the campaign page.



Cigar working on new music

According to a recent post on their Instagram page, California skate punks Cigar are working on new music. It’s been 18 years since their one and only album Speed is Relative was released.

We’ll keep you posted as more details on new music from Cigar come to light. For now, here‘s their fantastic 1999 debut LP to tide you over.



Fat Mike working on “Cokie the Clown” album with Travis Barker

Fat Mike has revealed he and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker are working on a “Cokie the Clown” album. The NOFX frontman made the announcement on Instagram, noting that Barker is “the one drummer that I’ve really wanted to collaborate with”.

This is the first we’ve heard of this album, so that’s pretty much all we know about it. Stay tuned as more details are divulged.



The Offspring to release new music in 2018

As of late, The Offspring are back in the studio recording their long-awaited new album. On their Instagram account, the band wrote, Who’s ready for new music in 2018?”; this indicates that their new album will be released that year.

We’ll keep you posted as more details on new music from The Offspring come to light. Their last full-length studio album, Days Go By, was released in 2012. Since then, the band released the covers EP Summer Nationals in 2014, and a one-off single, “Coming for You”, the year after.



Brendan Kelly (Lawrence Arms, Falcon) recording new Wandering Birds album

Good news, everyone! Brendan Kelly of The Lawrence Arms, The Falcon, and (obviously) Brendan Kelly and the Wandering Birds fame, is recording a new Wandering Birds album.

Kelly made the announcement via his Twitter account.

Fuck yeah.



PUP recording a new album?

PUP seems to have revealed that they are starting work on a new album. Yesterday the band tweeted, “starting pre-production on a new record tomorrow?”

So there you go? I don’t know? Here’s a link to the tweet so you can ask them yourself?

Their last release was 2016’s “The Dream Is Over.”



Direct Hit! Are Working on a New Record

Milwaukee-based, psychedelic-loving punk outfit, Direct Hit!, have been in the studio working on a new record. On Friday, the band Tweeted a picture of their drummer Danny Walkowiak behind his kit along with the message: 

“We started making a new album tonight at Howl Street Recordings in Milwaukee with @mikeaar pushing faders. Can’t wait for you all to hear it.”

This year has been a busy one for the four-piece, earlier this month they released a split with label-mates in PEARS.

 



No Fun At All in the studio

Swedish skate punk legends No Fun At All have announced that they are in the studio, recording a new full length. In a Facebook post, they said “Stoked to let you know we’re heading to Soundlab Studios tomorrow to record our next album!”

The album will be the follow up to 2008’s “Low Rider”, the band’s first album following their reformation. They originally split in 2001.



The Offspring in the studio, hoping to release new music early next year

Dexter Holland recently told OC Register that The Offspring are back in the studio recording/finishing new material that could be released on an EP.

While talking about his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, which he received last May, Dexter said, “No one calls me doctor. I was tied up with all of that for a while but we’re back in the studio. I think I want to do like an EP. It’s kind of what people are doing these days and it makes for less time in between stuff. It has been five years for us so we have a few songs together and I’m hoping to get something out by early next year.”

The Offspring’s last full-length studio album, Days Go By, was released in 2012. The band recently announced three shows at The Observatory in Santa Ana, which take place next week and see The Offspring continue celebrating the 20th anniversary of their fourth album Ixnay on the Hombre.



Zebrahead announce compilation album “The Bonus Brothers”, finishing new record

Zebrahead have announced they are going to release a compilation album on November 24th, titled The Bonus Brothers, which includes only songs previously only available in Japan. In addition to that, the band stated that they have been in the studio finishing the recording process of their next album, due for release next year, and will release recording videos with snippets of new songs in December.

Top Drawer Records announce “14 Soda Punx” compilation, “Seattle Pop Punk Festival”

In 1993, Sicko front man Ean Hernandez’ label, Top Drawer Records released ’13 Soda Punx’, with Fastbacks, Sicko, Huevos Rancheros, Old Man, Model Rockets, Mr T Experience, Stand GT, The Stuppes, Young Fresh Fellows, The Primate 5, Bum, Cub, and The Smugglers.

Now 23 years later, they have announced the 2nd edition: ‘14 Soda Punx, with a mountain of Seattle based pop-punk bands such as Success, Burn Burn Burn, Ramona and more. The LP will be released and shipped following the 2 day Seattle Pop-Punk Music Festival on January 19 and 20 at the Highline in Seattle. To coincide with the release of the LP, Top Drawer Records will host a two-day music festival.

The Damned finish recording new album

The DamnedBritish punk rock legends The Damned have finished recording their new album. The release is being produced by Tony Visconti and also features the return of bassist Paul Gray.

The band last released their latest album So, Who’s Paranoid? in 2008.
