The Copyrights working on new album, sound off about recording…

Illinois pop-punks The Copyrights began work on a new record this past weekend and it’s being produced by Mike Kennerty (the kind gent from who produced the recent Direct Hit! album). Drummer and “hitsmith”, Luke McNeill, had this to say about the recording:

“We tracked 16 songs on drums, prolly gonna whittle that down to 12-14 for the LP. I think the songs are great, and working with Mike is fucking awesome. He’s more enthusiastic about the record than we are I think, and he has a ton of great ideas. I’ve always wanted to work with a producer that throws a ton of ideas out there about leads, drum fills, song length, etc., just to get an outside opinion and perspective, and it’s even better that a lot of his ideas are great.”

Fans can expect the album out through Red Scare Industries and we’ll keep you posted on a release date when more details surface.

The Copyrights last released a double rarities LP titled ”Shit’s Fucked,” last on It’s Alive Records.
