New Pennywise record coming in 2018

Great news from the Pennywise camp – frontman Jim Lindberg has confirmed a new album in 2018!

In an interview with the Punkanormal Podcast, Lindberg says the new album is finishing production and is expected to be released early in 2018. Pennywise released Yesterdays in July of 2015 on Epitaph, featuring previously unheard material written by the late Jason Thirsk.

Lindberg also updates on his side project Wraths, planning a new record and tour in 2018 as well. Check out the podcast with the interview below, starting at around 1:06. Stay tuned for more details.



The Interrupters begin recording new album

Los Angeles ska-punk band The Interrupters have announced they are currently in the studio working on a new album. The LP is being recorded with Tim Armstrong and Brett Gurewitz, and it will be the band’s third full-length release.

The Interrupters last released Say It Out Loud in 2016 through Hellcat Records.



Satanic Surfers begin recording first album in 12 years

Swedish skate punk veterans Satanic Surfers recently announced that they have begun tracking down their first studio album in 12 years. Not many details were given, but the band posted pictures from the studio on their Instagram page, with one of them reading, “New album in the making”.

Satanic Surfers released their last album Taste the Poison way back in 2005 through Bad Taste Records.



From the Tracks final album to be released on Less Talk, More Records

Defunct half Scot/half Swede punk act From the Tracks are finally releasing the album they promised when they broke up. “Get Worse” was recorded, lost in a fire, and then finally re-recorded and will be released on Less Talk, More Records on October 1st.

Street Dogs post dispatch from the studio

Boston’s veteran rebel rousers and venerable punk rockers, Street Dogs, have posted an update from the studio, featuring Boston rapper Slaine.


From the band’s Facebook: “Back in the studio working on our new album and we had the honor of working with our good friend Slaine

2010 saw the release of the band’s last self-titled LP on Hellcat records, with 2014 seeing a split with Noi!se through Pirates Press.

No word yet on a release date or any details for this new record, but Dying Scene will keep you all posted.



CHASER announce official comeback with album and shows in the works

I don’t know about you, but I could use some good news. Oh shit, I have some! SoCal’s CHASER has officially announced a comeback. Mike tells us that they’ll be writing a new album and playing shows very soon. He went on to say,

Fans can expect upcoming shows and new material, returning to our original style of playing fast and energetic melodic punk rock. Stay tuned and please share and spread the word!!”

Angels and Airwaves tease new record

Blink 182 alumni and UFO junkie Tom Delonge has teased some action on the Angels & Airwaves front.

In a slightly cryptic Instagram post, Delonge teased the future of the band by stating “@angelsandairwaves new album in the works….”

No details yet on a release date or any info on the new record, but another cryptic post hints at at more information to come.

The band last released The Dream Walker in 2014. Dying Scene will keep you guys posted once details arrive from the mothership. Live long and prosper.



The Wonder Years recorded upcoming acoustic EP at Ace Enders’ studio

The upcoming Wonder Years EP we told you about yesterday was recorded at Ace Enders‘ Lumberyard studio. He shared an Instagram post of the band and his team.

This record is going to be super weepy, isn’t it? If you dare tell anyone I’m into that, I’ll fight you. With knives.



Direct Hit! Hit! the studio to record

Western Settings begin working on new album “Another Year”

San Diego punks Western Settings have announced they are currently demoing music for a new album titled Another Year. The record is being produced by Dead To Me‘s Tyson “Chicken” Anncharico, who handled production duties on the band’s Old Pain EP.

Another Year is slated to release sometime next spring. We’ll keep you posted as more details are revealed on the follow-up to 2015’s Yes It Is. For the time being, the band will be touring the US with Swingin’ Utters – see if they’re coming to your town below.



Video: Jeff Rosenstock does acoustic video for new song “Melba”

While jamming at an acoustic session for Exclaim, Jeff Rosenstock gave us a new song, “Melba.” No word yet on whether or not this song will appear on a proper release but you can check out the video below

Rosenstock’s latest album Worry was released in 2016 through SideOneDummy. He also released a split, with Skasucks, last month. 



Craig’s Brother (melodic punk) announce EP campaign

Santa Cruz punk rockers Craig’s Brother have just launched an EP campaign with a release tentatively set for later this year.

The campaign has a goal of three thousand dollars for a five track EP, where you can donate a pre determined amount and recieve a reward, or choose an amount to donate and choose a reward.

Incentives include downloads of the finished product, sneak peaks at the first song, Skype calls with the band, and even having the band come hang for a night and make you breakfast in the morning.

Former Gaslight Anthem front-man Brian Fallon has begun recording with producer, Ted Hutt, down in New Orleans! Anyone else excited for this!? You can check out his progress through his Instagram here

Fallon’s last project, Painkillers, was released on March 11, 2016 through Island Records.
