Sad news today for fans of Funeral for a Friend. The Welsh post-hardcore group have decided to call it quits following a farewell tour through April 2016. You can check out the dates and locations for the “Last Chance to Dance” tour below. Tickets go on sale this Friday, September 18th.
Vocalist and founding member Matthew Davies-Kreye shared his thoughts on the band’s decision:
“It’s the natural end. We’ve done everything we set out to do and way more than I could ever have hoped so I’m not upset that it’s run its course. We all felt that ‘Chapter And Verse’ was a pretty decent full stop on an incredible fourteen and half years of making music together…
So, how do you celebrate a huge part of your life? You play some shows! For me it seemed obvious to go out with both ‘Hours’ and ‘Casually Dressed.’ I feel that both those records distill what Funeral is to a whole load of people more definitively than just piecing together a set from all the records we’ve made. It seems to me that those are the records that matter most and ‘Hours’ to me is my proudest achievement in music with Funeral. I don’t know why but it fills me with an overwhelming sense of pride.”
The band’s last album, Chapter and Verse, was released on January 19th 2015.

San Francisco Metalcore group Deafheaven have just released a minute-long trailer for their upcoming album “New Bermuda”. This comes as the first piece of news from the band since they switched to ANTI- Records, having released their previous work via Deathwish Inc.
The trailer is actually kind of beautiful in a weird way. It combines slow shots of an ocean with a slow and moody acoustic guitar riff, before breaking down into heavy drums and guitar, cutting together shots of the group in complete synch with the music. You can it out below.
“New Bermuda” is due to be released sometime in October. Deafheaven’s previous album, From “The Kettle Onto The Coil”, was released in August 2014, via Deathwish.

If anybody out there was left pretty impressed by Parkway Drive’s recent mid-air music video, well then here’s a little behind-the-scenes treat for you. The video shows the band explaining what went into the video, combined with production videos showing everything that went into making the video. As a part-time filmmaker, I’ve gotta say I find all this stuff pretty fascinating, especially seeing as how all of this was shot in the Australian desert.
Check out the video below.

Australian metalcore act Parkway Drive have detailed their upcoming album Ire, which is slated for a September 25th release.
You can check out the track listing below.
Vocalist Winston McCall released the following statement on the record:
This is the album for us. Every single step of the way, whenever there was gamble to take, we took the biggest one we could. If this isn’t the album that can go further than anything we thought was possible with this band and this type of music, that’s fine, but we can’t go back from this as far as we’re concerned.
