This reminded me that I was 14 when I bought my first comp. At Hot Topic. I also purchased an Operation Ivy t-shirt and a chain wallet with the anarchy logo on it because capitalism is hilarious and I was laughable. Pretty sure that was the Hot Topic punk rock adolescent starter kit.

No, The Dickies were not kicked off Warped Tour for front man’s verbally abusive rant

Controversy in Punk Land, everybody! LA punk legends The Dickies were the center of quite the publicity shit storm after a video of front man Leonard Graves verbally eviscerating a crowd member during a set on the Vans Warped Tour made its way around the interwebs last week. Said attendee was apparently protesting the band’s raunchy stage antics and Graves undoubtedly went too far in his own retaliation but rumors that the incident got The Dickies kicked off the tour have turned out to be false per a statement from Warped Tour head honcho Kevin Lyman.

Check out Lyman’s full statement below and read Grave’s semi-apologetic one here.

The book, set to be released August 29th via Lesser Gods, will feature forwards written by many of Miret’s peers in the punk world including Jerry Only. So many peers offered forwards that Lars Fredrickson of Rancid’s had to be left out. To hear what Lars had to say about Miret’s work click here.

World/Inferno Friendship Society to headline PunkNews Summer Soiree

If you’re going to be in Philadelphia on August 12th, be sure to pack your fanciest pants for the PunkNews Summer Soiree. World/Inferno Friendship Society will be headlining, with Posers, Crazy and the Brains, and Pushin’ It 2 the Limit supporting.

Along with live music, there will be punk trivia, a dating game, goodie bags, and cassettes because some of you are apparently too young to remember what a terrible format that was.

Seriously though, imagine paying for an album and it just breaks while you’re rewinding it.

Rewinding was a thing you used to have to do when your music or video got to the end. Instead of, you know, hitting a button or dropping a needle in a different location, you ran your dainty media at a high speed and prayed to sweet zombie Jesus that the tape wouldn’t snap.

Cassettes suck.

But this show won’t suck, so you should check it out if you’re in Philly in mid-August!
