Luca Brasi frontman Tyler Richardson contributes to punk rock tribute to The Simpsons

Australian punks Luca Brasi released their most recent album, Is All We’re Going To Be, last May, but frontman Tyler Richardson has taken on a side project:  a punk rock version of a song from The Simpsons.  You can check it out below, and you’ll also find Jesse Coulter of Grenadiers on “Dr. Zaius.”

To give you a little background on this (awesome!) project, Perth-based musician Dan Cribb brings in guest artists to cover songs that appeared in episodes of The Simpsons, in what he has dubbed Worst Tribute Ever.  The song chosen by Richardson is called “Scorpio,” in honor of the character Hank Scorpio.  Though he only made it in one scene of the show, Scorpio now lives on in this punk tribute.

You can download the EP for free here.

Real Punk Radio’s Rock n Roll Manifesto releases free compilation

Real Punk Radio‘s Greg Lonesome has curated a 16-track compilation for fans, and you can check it out here.

This comp, called Manifesto Mix Tape Vol. 1, is actually the third comp released by Greg’s Rock n’ Roll Manifesto show.  The idea came about because Greg is of the age (and hell, so am I!) where he fondly remembers making mix tapes for his friends.  For Greg, mixtapes evolved into mix CDs, which in turn evolved into podcasts, and ultimately live radio.

You can “tune in” to Real Punk Radio via the interwebs here.
