Mute announce new guitarist

Québec technical punks Mute has announced their new guitarist Matt Kapuszczak, providing the following statement:

“We want to officially welcome our new guitar player Matt to the team! Besides being an awesome guitar player and composer, Matt has been a great friend of the band for as long as we can remember. Some of you might even know him from his former band IVS. Stay tuned for more shows and tour announcements!”

The band’s latest album, “Remember Death”, come out last year on Bird Attack Records.

Canadian melodic hardcore act Mute announced a new album last April. Since then they’ve dropped numerous video teasers of new music and now they’ve dropped their first bass teaser video. You can view it, as well as the others below.



Lagwagon announce South American tour with Mute, Belvedere and Adrenalized

Santa Barbara skate punk veterans Lagwagon will embark on the “We Are One” tour with Mute, Belvedere and Adrenalized, which will take place in February and March of next year in South America. Lagwagon frontman Joey Cape on the tour:

“Very excited that Lagwagon is coming back to South America in late February, early March. We’ll be touring with the bands Belvedere and Mute. We’re coming to Chile, Argentina, Peru, Brazil and for the first time, Columbia. Come hang out with us!”

Almost a year has passed since Lagwagon last released Hang, their first album in nine years, via Fat Wreck Chords. Mute have been working on a new album, which will be their first since 2011’s Thunderblast. Belvedere have been working on new material as well, and Adrenalized released their latest album Docet Umbra a month ago.



Screaming Fastcore release 8-bit skate punk compilation “Fast Melodic Hard-Bits”

Here’s something a little out of the ordinary. Screaming Fastcore has just released a compilation that includes songs such as “Me” by Rufio, “Apocalypse Soon” by Mute, and “Slaves To The Pavement” by Belvedere. Here’s the catch though; they’ve all been converted to sound like they’re coming out of an 8-bit video game… the maddest 8-bit video game ever!
