Even more bands have just been added to the lineup for Fest 16. Today’s additions include Bigwig, Mean Jeans, Crime In Stereo, and a reunited Static Radio NJ, among others.

Bigwig and PEARS announce 3 Texas shows

Bigwig and PEARS have announced they will be playing 3 shows together in Texas this fall. The short run kicks off in Houston with 30footFALL, and wraps up in Dallas with Flatfoot 56.

Bigwig released their latest LP Reclamation in 2006 on Fearless Records, and announced plans to record a new album in 2015. PEARS’ sophomore full-length Green Star was released on April 1st through Fat Wreck Chords.

The 11th edition of Amnesia Rockfest is set for June 23-26, 2016 in Montebello, Quebec, Canada. The line-up is always stacked, so be sure to check in as the date gets closer.

Amnesia Rockfest 2015 is now four months behind us, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop reminiscing, right? Check out a video from Bigwig performing “Counting Down” below.

BIGWIG frontman Tom Petta guest hosts Dying Scene Radio from the 119th floor of Johnny X’s swanky East Village hotel room

This week on Dying Scene Radio, Bob Noxious and Bobby Pickles welcome BIGWIG guitarist/frontman, Tom Petta, in-studio high atop the world on the 119th floor of Dying Scene Head Honcho Johnny X’s swanky East Village, NYC hotel room. Everyone has been invited to the party, except for Bob, who is lounging at home in his flippy-floppies with the Tampa Bay Lightning game thundering in the background. Like the great Wizard of Oz, Mr. “X” is finally unmasked for that of the illustrious Dave Buck. He and the Bobs speak with Tom about BIGWIG’s upcoming US/Canada tour and the imminent recording of their new album, the reasons for BIGWIG’s long hiatus (Tom’s severed finger) and having some of their original lineup back together. Episode 19’s recurring theme: Bobby’s insecure cheapshots at Bob.

Title Fight, Modern Life Is War, As Friends Rust, Big Wig and more added to Fest 14

The organizers of The Fest 14 have announced the next batch of bands for what is sure to be another unforgettable weekend of punk rock debauchery and fun.

The latest additions – which now bring the total number of confirmed bands to 331 – include the likes of Title Fight, Modern Life Is War, As Friends Rust, Big Wig, Into It. Over It., Smoke or Fire, Pianos Become the Teeth, Loma Prieta, Riverboat Gamblers, Masked Intruder, Lee Corey Oswald and more. They join an already impressive list of artists such as Lagwagon, Desaparecidos, The Menzingers, Mustard Plug, Tim Barry, Off With Their Heads, Teenage Bottlerocket, mewithoutYou, Modern Baseball, The Hotelier, Chumped, The Sidekicks, Elway, and Defiance, Ohio.

The Fest 14 will take place in Gainesville, FL over the course of three days (Oct 30, 31, Nov 1) and will feature over 350 of the best punk and independent bands in the world. Of course, don’t forget about BIG PRE-FEST IN LITTLE YBOR 3 as well, which spans two days (Oct 28 + 29) in the historic Tampa, FL neighborhood of Ybor City.

Passes for The Fest 14 and BIG PRE-FEST IN LITTLE YBOR 3 will go on sale on June 1st. Early sale pricing will be available through June 30th and features a FEST 14 three-day pass ($105), a two-day pass for PRE-FEST ($55) and a combo package of $150 for all five days of festing.

Sick of it All, Bigwig, Kill Your Idols and more set to play “NateFest” benefit

As you may have heard, Nate Gluck, a fixture in the New Jersey hardcore/punk scene, was unfortunately diagnosed with in his stomach and esophagus. He has played in many notable bands including Vision, Ensign and Strength 691. A fund was set up for him and his family. In addition to this, the scene has put together a benefit in his honor called “NateFest.” Several  bands including Sick of It All, Bigwig, None More Black, Kill Your Idols, Shai Hulud and more are scheduled to play in Jersey on March 21st and 22nd.

Kung Fu Records releases Bigwig’s “Stay Asleep” on vinyl in celebration of its 15th anniversary

In celebration of the 15th anniversary of Bigwig‘s 1999 sophomore album Stay Asleep, the fine people at Kung Fu Records are releasing the album on vinyl for the first time ever on October 28th!

Pre-orders are available here (black vinyl), and here (limited clear w/ black splatter). Be sure to act fast if you want one of the colored LPs because they’re almost sold out.
